Main Descriptions

Our client is urgently hiring for Senior Inspector to join the team urgently.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To inspect and certify perishable products.
• To inspect the handling, storage and transport of perishable products.
• To ensure the correct application of quality management systems, BMS procedures and work instructions.
• Perform administrative tasks.
• Mentoring of junior staff.
• To provide continuous support to Chief Inspector.
• To provide technical support to Inspectors.
• To assist with training of Inspectors.
• To build and maintain good relations with PPECB clients.
• Communicate with various clients on own specific task and outcome of decisions
• To participate in the relief duty roster
• To accept the responsibility of continuous self-improvement in their area of responsibility according to the PPECB performance framework.

Key Requirements:

• Must have a National Diploma in an Agricultural discipline with relevant work experience as a competent Inspector.
• Must have proven competence with 90 technical credits and 45 Soft Skills credits.
• Must have proven competence in 5 Main products of which Stone-Plums, Stone-Other, Pome, Citrus and Table Grapes are compulsory.
• Practical experience and/or exposure in Dried Fruit, Bitter Apricot Kernels, Vegetables inspection and container loading will be advantageous.
• Thorough understanding and theoretical knowledge of the processes involved in product inspection of fresh produce, cold chain activities and food safety.
• Must have excellent proven experience on implementation and maintenance of all regional processes and databases.
• Must have experience as senior within the inspections, cold chain and harmonization strategy will be to the advantage of applicants.
• Must have computer literacy.
