Main Descriptions:

Our client is urgently hiring for Communications Coordinator to join the team urgently.

Minimum Requirements:

Must have completed a 3-year Tertiary Qualification (National Diploma or Bachelors Degree)
Majored in Communication, Journalism, Media, Marketing, Public Relations, or similar related Field
Qualifications in Social Work, Social Science or related Fields may be considered if experience is relevant
Must have 2 to 4 years’ work experience within a Communications-related role
Must have proven efficiency in using various Social Media platforms including Facebook, LinekdIn, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and Youtube
Must have excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate well with a variety of stakeholders
In order to effectively execute the duties attached to the position, applicants should be mature, adaptable, able to thrive under pressure, self-driven, able to use their own initiative and supplemented with excellent interpersonal skills
To be considered for appointment, the candidate must be a South African citizen.

Required Skills:

Solid editing, writing and researching skills
Must have strong attention to detail
Organizational skills
Storytelling and copywriting skills
Experience in using online conferencing tools (Zoom, MS Teams)
Must have excellent communication abilities (oral and written) – specifically in English. Proficiency in other South African languages is a plus
Proficient in MS Office; familiarity with design software (e.g. Illustrator, Canva) and content management systems is a plus
Certificates or courses in social media marketing is a plus
Must have knowledge or experience with Azure for website updates is a plus
Must have knowledge of Early Childhood Development and Social Development issues is a plus
Must have knowledge and experience using Shopify is a plus
Must have experience in using Asana is a plus

Duties and Responsibilities:

To create and manage contact databases of Foundation stakeholders using Mailchimp or telegram platforms
To assist in creating top class content for Foundation social media channels (aligned to the Foundations communication strategy)
To assist in maintaining web content and executing social media campaign strategies
To assist in collating project data and maintaining databases for ease of reporting to major stakeholders
Scheduling social media content (knowledge and experience with Hootsuite is an advantage)
To assist in preparing presentations, minutes and reports for Foundation stakeholders
To assist with the creation and roll out of fundraising campaigns
Maintain Foundation donation/volunteer platforms (i.e GlobalGiving, ForGood, BrowniePoints) through the creation of needs, response to volunteer requests and basic report writing
To collect and collate project stories from the ground for distribution via newsletters, blog posts, social media channels, reports, emailers and presentations
To assist in the writing, reviewing and the dissemination of press releases for Foundation projects and campaigns
Assist in raising awareness around key issues relating to the Foundation (which include early childhood development, food insecurity and youth unemployment) through various digital channels including social media, website, presentations and through business communication channels
To collect and assess data and analytics across a variety of digital platforms (experience in using google analytics is an advantage)
To assist in the collection and storage of photographs and videos from key projects
Assist in the marketing of Foundation merchandise and increase awareness around key Foundation campaigns including Do More Fridays and Do More Giving
To assist in maintaining and uploading content to the Foundation online store using Shopify (i.e uploading new merchandise, setting up sales etc..)
To assist in raising the profile of the Foundation externally through the execution of a clear Foundation public relations plan
To assist in coordinating, motivating and supervising Do More Heroes (Foundation volunteers) to perform certain activities for Foundation annual campaigns and other activities
To assist with general administration in the communications department. This can involve answering calls, scheduling meetings, preparing presentations, gathering materials for reports and writing feedback mails.
