Main Descriptions

Our client is urgently hiring for Category Brand Specialist to join the team urgently.

Key Requirements:

• Must have Grade 12 – Matric or Senior Certificate
• Must have degree in Marketing or relevant qualification
• Must have minimum 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Marketing role managing a category
• Must have similar experience in a Baby Retail environment
• Post graduate qualification in Marketing

Duties and Responsibilities:

• To develop and continuously refine effective end-to-end category lifecycle programs that leverage long term relationships to deliver customer loyalty.
• To develop long term category marketing launches roadmaps and communicates clear timelines and deadlines to all stakeholders.
• Aid strategic goals by providing insights and category solutions that is customer focused to bring promotions, expos, loyalty, brand, omni channel & social media together.
• To develop omni-channel campaigns and support the execution of category programmes and business pipeline activities to generate demand.
• To develop strategy on private label this includes loyalty.
• Review cost vs campaign budget and estimate returns in terms of increased sales or product/category awareness.
• To evaluate and analyse category campaign performance and identify opportunities for improvement exceed expectations.
• To translate consumer & shopper insights and ensure opportunities are incorporated into all category marketing strategies and plans.
• To collaborate with Advertising /Marketing teams to develop creative themes for different promotional campaigns.
• To collaborate with key internal stakeholders to deliver customer relationship engagement strategy, value-adding marketing content, targeted social & digital media campaigns and increased website traffic for the category.
• Bring together Baby category, Dis-Chem, and Baby City brand to develop a strategy across both.
• To track, analyse and evaluate all category brands and trade initiatives to ensure business results are achieved and brand equity is maintained.
• To develop and implement comprehensive marketing plans across all media, channel, and communication platforms.
• To lead through execution and drive positive category exposure and collaboration with marketing, procurement, and retail operational delivery.
• Ensure billings are done on marketing by vendor, including broadsheets, TV, and all other promotional activities.
• To collaborate with retail operations teams to enforce timeous delivery on store promotional activities.
• To ensure that marketing plans are delivered according to Dis-Chem standard operating procedures.
• Using available marketing insights develop market intelligence to characterize customer persona, buying strategy, and their key buying criteria.
• Develop and maintain insights on the competitive landscape and how competing business are positioned.
• To collaborate with the buying team to understand the buying strategy and support the delivery of sales and define marketing processes.
• Build strategic relationships and partner with key industry players, agencies, and vendors.
• To guide team on best opportunities and practices and development the brand identity strategies in line with the opportunities.
• Research other expo opportunities outside of Mama magic, such as mall kiosk display to market the brand.
• To complete monthly brand reports as per business requirements.
• To prepare and monitor the marketing budget continuously and ensure effective use of budget in line with category strategy and financial model.
• Achieve market share targets by driving promotion activity.
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with buying, marketing, retail operations teams and external vendors.
• To ensure all promotional items are signed off both by category management and respective suppliers before print date.
• To work collaboratively with Senior management and Category team to provide effective, professional, and efficient service.
